my Oregon joy

My mamma grew up on the Oregon coast and some of her family still lives there, so it is always such a treat to go visit every summer. I even got to cross three things off my life list while I was there. Oh boy!

So one of my favorite places to go to in Oregon is this wild life park in Bandon where they let you play with the baby animals. Even at 21 I beg my family to go here. Haha. nothing makes you feel like a child like family vacations. But, I mean you KNOW how I love my baby animals...

Just hanging with a baby black bear...

and a baby fox!!!! My favorite animal. When they told me they had a baby fox I was going to get to play with, you cannot comprehend how excited I got. This little guys name was Todd, and I loved him, and I wanted to take him home with me. (life list check 1)

But, the fun didn't stop there, a baby bobcat!

Ok this is just a regular baby. But, that face!

and last but not least, a baby caracal.

The coast of Oregon is seriously one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in my life. I just absolutely love it here and it's always nice to get a little cool weather in the midst of a hot Georgia summer. I didn't to go to Oregon last summer for the first time in forever, and I missed it so much. I can't imagine not making my way to the other side of America (at least every few years) for the rest of the my life.
Yes, I am so obsessed with my dog that we brought him to Oregon.

Aren't my parents cute? They take me on the greatest adventures.

It was pretty much the first not windy day ever in Oregon when we decided to go fly our kite, but it turned out brilliantly with just enough breeze to get our sharknado into the air. (life list check 2)

And to finish off my trip I had my grandma guide me through making one of her famous blackberry cobblers. Blackberries picked that day, homemade crust, and lots of sugar, I was pretty proud of the results.

Can't wait till my next trip out west. This place is so perfect.

peace. love. and coast to coast.

my random list of stuff

I just don't even really know what to post about this week, so I figured I would just share some stuff that I have been lovin' on recently.

1. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros "That's What's Up." Not only do I love this song, but this music video could not get anymore precious. Kudos on making me smile Edward Sharpe.

"You be the bird, I'll be the feather. We'll be the best of friends forever"

2. Foxes. Hardly a new love of mine. Foxes have been my favorite ever since I saw Robin Hood the first time (best Disney movie ya'll). Anyways, foxes are my spirit animal, if you think about it, it suits me perfectly. You are probably now thinking that I am crazy cause I just told you that I have a spirit animal, but whatever I know you are just trying to think of yours now too. I was thinking about this recently cause over the break me and some friends had a conversation about what animals best represent us (aka our spirit animals). Obviously I didn't even have to give mine thought.

3. "Moonrise Kingdom." I know this movie came out over the summer, but I didn't really make it to the Cinema too much living in India, so I have slowly been catching up on movies. I finally saw this one over the break after a lot of waiting, and I did not feel cheated by my excitement for it. For sure very on the quirky side, but a real gem. (If you want a watch, this movie is currently in Red Box)

4. French music. I am a huge lover of all things French and I've been listening to a lot of French music recently. This is probably mostly because it was just about a year ago now that I began my adventures of living in Paris. I miss taking walks on the Seine, riding around on the metro, sipping hot co at side walk cafes, and just being in the most magical city in the world. Listening to that old style French music takes me right back.

5. Babies. I swear I am not baby hungry (I'm only 21 why would you even think that!!!) But, ever since I got the joy of being an aunt I find myself loving kids just a little bit more. I just about died laughing yesterday when Hil and I were out to brunch (cause you know, we do stuff like go get brunch), and the most darling child came up made a funny face at us in the window and then just started cracking up. When in life do we realize that that is weird and stop doing hilarious things like that??

Well, those are just a few things that I love, so naturally I think you should love them too.

peace. love. and a bunch of random stuff.
