the ends not near, it's here

Well freshmen year is officially over (and has been for a week now) woo hoo! I must say I am pleased to have been returned to warm weather and trees, but of course greatly miss the new friends. But, now that I have knocked a year out of college I feel like I have learned a lot, so to sum it up (now that I have had a week to reflect/forget) heres a little list of just a few things...

1. Don't wait till the you get to the last pair of underwear to do your laundry, becuase sometimes you are too busy for laundry on the last day and have to alter your whole schedule so that you don't have to go comando.

2. Spread your work out. When you have a day or two where you don't have a lot going on, this usually means that you will have tons to do the next day or two. So, get ahead.

3. Dress for success (ok I've known this one for a while, but it is reinforced all the time). This seems silly, but I feel better, do better, and look better when I dress well. No matter how much goes wrong in a day if I can say "at least I look good" than I always know that one thing is going right.

4. Take time for the yourself. In college there are TONS of classes, tests, social activites, school events, sports games, hanging out, parties, etc. But sometimes I needed to step back from all of it and just spend a night by myself watching a movie. Call me a loaner, but everyone needs some me time now and then, or I think we would all go a bit crazy.

5. BE BOLD! My unofficial life motto used to be "I do what I want." Now that I will be turning 20 in about 6 months (I seriously feel old), I have decided to take on a new unofficial motto of "Be Bolder." This is obviously something that I am still working on and will probably be working on for several more years, but I'm getting there. (I mean I tried to dye all my hair purple, and even though it turned kind of red, that's pretty bold if you ask me.)

Don't worry, I learned more than that in college  (probably only a LITTLE bit more though cause honestly, I don't remember the plot of Candide anymore, but do I really need to?) However, if I had to pick a word to describe my freshmen year, and didn't have to be creative about it, I would settle for a nice big...awesome!

  1. Those are some lovely lessons. Though I have to admit that the dress for success blub kept making me think that maybe you were referring to lucky rocketship underpants, because everyone knows those make a day way better.

  2. Unfortunately I do not own lucky rocket ship underwear. But I do have lucky seahorse underwear, so don't be under the impression that I am lacking in the lucky undergarment department.
